NEW REPORT: Oregon Dem Gov Kate Brown’s Re-Election Bid Is In “Trouble” As Democrats “Abandon” Her Campaign

A new report from Willamette Week is shedding light as to why the Oregon governor’s race has become a “tossup” – Democrat voters are “abandoning” failed Governor Kate Brown.

Willamette Week writes that, “Kate Brown’s election bid is in trouble” despite Oregon’s deep blue status because “Oregonians don’t much like her.” Brown’s negatives are “persistently high,” according to pollster John Horvick of DHM Research in Portland. In focus groups, we ask, ‘What comes to mind when you think of Kate Brown?'” Horvick says. They really struggle to come up with anything. What is the policy she’s pushed through or an argument she’s taken to the voters? They can’t say. She’s just nondescript to them.”

Specifically, traditionally Democrat voters are refusing to support Brown, and are instead backing Republican gubernatorial candidate Knute Buehler.

Willamette Week explains, Over the past month, WW has spoken to Democratic voters who say they are abandoning Brown. During those conversations, three themes emerge repeatedly: Oregon’s frayed social safety net, a sense of lawlessness on the streets, and a failed educational system.”

Oregon voters see right through Kate Brown’s misleading advertisements – she’s failed to solve big problems like the pension crisis, and homelessness and education continue to get worse under her watch. Brown’s failure to lead is why even Democrat voters are abandoning Kate Brown and supporting Knute Buehler.
