New Poll: Dem Gov Gina Raimondo’s Job Approval Rating Continues To Plummet

With her administration plagued by reports of scandal, lackluster economic growth, and a chronic lack of transparency, Democrat Governor Gina Raimondo’s approval rating continues to plummet, damaging her chances of re-election. The latest Morning Consult survey shows Raimondo’s approval rating has fallen to 39 percent, while 50 percent of voters now disapprove of her job performance.

In April of 2017, the same poll showed Raimondo’s approval rating at 48 percent. In the span of only one year, that number has dropped nine points.

This is also the second consecutive poll that has had Raimondo’s approval below 40 percent after a WPRI/Roger Williams University poll showed a similar result several weeks ago.

Raimondo continues to face an increasingly difficult path to re-election as Rhode Islanders appear eager for new leadership.
