New Poll: Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey Opens Up Strong Lead As David Garcia Stumbles

GOP Governor Doug Ducey has opened up a strong lead in the Arizona governor’s race, according to new polling released by Reuters. The Reuters/Ipsos/UVA Center for Politics poll finds that Ducey leads Garcia by 12-points, 51% to 39%.

It’s no surprise that David Garcia is stumbling in the polls – his campaign has faced setback after setback in recent weeks. Garcia has been hammered for his extreme position on illegal immigration, after proclaiming that he supports “no wall” in Southern Arizona. A top Garcia staffer was also caught calling the United States a “’sh-thole country.”

Garcia’s even faced division in his own party, with Democrat Senate nominee Kyrsten Sinema refusing to endorse his far-left campaign.

And just this week, Garcia’s come under fire for skipping nearly half of charter school board meetings he was supposed to be attending, and for getting paid a hefty taxpayer salary for teaching a mere three classes this year.

As Governor Doug Ducey continues to deliver results for the people of Arizona, voters are prepared to reward him with a second term.
