New Ad: Whitmer Failed Benton Harbor

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Get Michigan Working Again, an affiliate of the Republican Governors Association, announced a new ad campaign highlighting Gretchen Whitmer’s failure to lead during the Benton Harbor water crisis.

The five-figure digital ad campaign focuses on Gretchen Whitmer and her administration’s failure to address elevated lead levels in the Benton Harbor water system, despite knowing about the crisis for over three years. Activists in the community say that Whitmer only took action after being forced to by the EPA.

“While residents of Benton Harbor were unknowingly drinking lead-contaminated water, Gretchen Whitmer and her administration were sitting on the sidelines for years hiding critical information from the public,” said RGA Spokesperson Chris Gustafson. “Whitmer’s inaction endangered countless Michiganders, and her slow response and failure to lead during a crisis has once again shown that she is unfit for the job.”
