Minnesota Dem Gov Candidate Chris Coleman Leaves $30 Million Hole For Successor

As he sets out on his campaign for Minnesota governor, Democrat St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman appears perfectly content leaving his city tens of millions of dollars in debt. New video of a recent event shows Coleman explaining the “30 million dollar hole” the city of St. Paul is dealing with after its property assessments were struck down by the state’s Supreme Court. At the end, Coleman describes how he is perfectly content to ignore the hole and leave it to his successor:

CHRIS COLEMAN: “…So it’s a thirty million dollar hole for us that we’ve got to solve which is a little painful but I was kind of trying to figure out how I could pass this on to my successor.”

If Chris Coleman has no concern for the fiscal success of St. Paul, Minnesotans can’t trust him to responsibly manage the state’s budgetary and fiscal needs. Minnesota needs a governor focused on solutions, but Coleman has made it clear he would be content to keep kicking problems down the road to the next guy.
