Apparently, Governor Mills’ plan to destroy the lobster industry with offshore wind farms didn’t quite scratch the itch.
Now, according to a new plan, Janet Mills wants the same coastal communities she is going to put out of work with offshore wind to pay for her extreme environmental agenda.
“In Maine, meanwhile, lawmakers are considering whether to charge some costs for this state’s emerging offshore wind sector to electricity ratepayers. The measure would require state regulators to negotiate a long-term contract for electricity produced by an ocean wind farm proposed by Governor Janet Mills.”
Heartless.
“Governor Mills not only wants Maine lobstermen and lobsterwomen to sacrifice their livelihoods in the name of a radical environmental agenda, but she wants the same coastal communities she is going to destroy to help pay for it,” said RGA spokesman Will Reinert. “The Mainers who rely on the fishing industry to feed their families are some of our nation’s original conservationists and for them to be treated like this by Janet Mills is a big slap in the face.”
