As Republican Ed Gillespie continues to gain momentum in the final days of the Virginia governor’s race, one of America’s most popular governors has announced that he will campaign for him this weekend. Maryland’s GOP Governor, Larry Hogan, will headline a grassroots rally on Saturday in Northern Virginia as Gillespie’s campaign begins its final push to get out the vote for Tuesday’s election. Governor Hogan’s support for Gillespie further shows that will be a governor who will work tirelessly to expand opportunity and create jobs for all Virginians.
The Washington Post reports:
“Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) will headline a grassroots rally for Virginia gubernatorial candidate Ed Gillespie on Saturday in Northern Virginia, lending his support to a close and heated contest just days before the election.
‘I think he’s a great leader in the Republican party,’ Hogan, who is seeking reelection next year, said of Gillespie on Thursday. ‘I think he’ll do a great job as governor of Virginia. . . I’m looking forward to doing what I can to see that he wins next Tuesday.’”
