March Inflation Report Reaffirms Every Americans’ Concern: Joe Biden’s Lost Control

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released new inflation data for the month of March revealing a 1.2% increase from last month’s 0.8% increase, marking a new 40-year record high increase in annual inflation at 8.5%. As another month passes of record high costs of goods, it is no surprise that recent polls reveal that inflation is a top concern for Americans.

The burden on consumers across every sector of the economy continued to rise for another month, with year over year prices reaching record high increases including:

  • The gasoline index up 48% (last month up 38.8%);
  • The food index up 8.8% (last month up 7.9%);
  • The energy index up 32% (last month up 25.6%);
  • Used cars and trucks up 35.3% (last month up 41.2%);
  • Utility (piped) gas up 21.6% (last month up 23.8%).

“With Joe Biden’s approval at its lowest point, it’s clear that Americans know Biden and Democrat governors who’ve backed his disastrous policies own this skyrocketing inflation,” said RGA Communications Director Jesse Hunt. “This stands in stark contrast with the Republican governors who’ve led the fight to get costs under control. From their calls to restore American energy independence to avoid another spike at the pump, to offering real relief in the form of tax cuts in their states, Republican governors continue to offer real solutions to Biden’s growing list of failures that affect every American’s budget and quality of life.”
