WHICH IS IT? Malloy Enabler Ned Lamont Says One Thing About GE Departure In Public, Says Another In Private

Democrat gubernatorial candidate Ned Lamont is proving to Connecticut voters once again that when it comes to jobs, he just doesn’t get it.

In his latest TV ad, Lamont seems to have changed his mind on why he believes General Electric left the state. Lamont claims in his new TV ad that GE’s departure hit Connecticut like a “punch to the gut,” but that’s not what he told a group of his supporters earlier this year. Video of Lamont at a May campaign event shows him claiming the opposite, downplaying GE’s decision to leave the state, nothing that “it wasn’t that many jobs” and that GE’s departure was only “symbolic” that the state was off track.

It appears Lamont is willing to tell most Connecticut voters one thing on TV, while telling his supporters the opposite behind closed doors. After spending months minimizing GE’s decision to leave the state and repeating false claims to defend the Malloy tax hikes that led to the company’s departure, he’s now telling voters a different story in a direct attempt to mislead. Lamont continues to show that he just doesn’t get it and can’t be trusted to tell the truth.
