Hillary Clinton was recently caught on video attacking South Carolina voters, calling them “backwards,” but Democrat gubernatorial candidate James Smith still refuses to condemn her comments. When given the opportunity to do so, Smith ducked the question, failing to stand up for South Carolinians.
Just this week, Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill publicly denounced Clinton’s comments, stating that Hillary should “be more careful and show respect to every American voter and not just the ones who voted for her.” McCaskill, like Smith, is a candidate on the ballot this November, but she decided to weigh in, unlike Smith.
After serving as Clinton’s number one surrogate in South Carolina during the 2016 election, having endorsed her before the state’s primary and heavily campaigned on her behalf, Smith needs to stop hiding and give South Carolina voters an honest answer: Does he agree with Hillary Clinton’s attack on South Carolina?
