After years trying to climb the ladder in Washington through failed statewide and presidential campaigns, rumors are swirling that Beto O’Rourke wants to bring his shopping for higher office back to Texas.
But Beto’s taken a few new positions since he was last on the Texas ballot… The new Beto Texans would see in a run for Governor wants to:
- Confiscate firearms through a mandated buyback of yet to be defined “assault weapons,”
- Tear down physical barriers along the southern border (Illegal crossings reportedly hit ANOTHER 21-year high last month),
- Revoke the tax-exempt status of any church or religious group that does not support same-sex marriage,
- Eliminate over one million jobs and increase energy prices by 900% throughout Texas with the Green New Deal, and
- Close 11-30 rural hospitals in Texas by enacting a “public option.”
“The version of Beto O’Rourke that would run for Governor today is a very different and drastically more radical candidate than the last one Texans saw on their ballots,” said RGA spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “Beto O’Rourke kissed any chance of statewide office in Texas goodbye a long time ago when he vowed to confiscate the firearms of law-abiding citizens, pledged to tear down physical barriers along the border, and declared allegiance to regulations that would kill over a million jobs across the state and raise taxes and the cost of living on Texans. An O’Rourke gubernatorial campaign will be nothing more than a money grab and vain attempt to stay relevant after running out of promotions to chase in Washington.”
