Democrat Governor Laura Kelly’s incompetence and sloppy style of governing cost her a big endorsement yesterday.
As reported by The Topeka Capital Journal, the Kansas State Troopers Association endorsed Republican Derek Schmidt over Kelly, citing “the ongoing turmoil at the agency” including sex discrimination, a hostile environment, low morale, abysmal recruitment, and staff shortages.
But this isn’t the only example of how Kelly’s mismanagement and incompetent style of governing is hurting Kansans – and her chances of re-election.
- Kelly’s facing multiple allegations of misusing taxpayer resources, including her decision to host campaign-style events across the state at taxpayers’ expense and a criminal referral.
- Kelly went through four Kansas Department of Labor secretaries in a one-year period due to disastrous management during the pandemic.
- Foster kids are sleeping in offices again years after promises the practice would end, according to KCUR.
- More than 60 feet of concrete barrier recently plunged after a Kansas Department of Transportation inspector failed to report the deterioration.
“Democrat Laura Kelly has proved throughout her term that she’s really, really bad at being governor, and more often than not, when the evidence piles up, she points the finger and refuses to take responsibility,” said RGA spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “Kansans must end her tenure and send her packing in November.”
