Laura Kelly Still Hasn’t Taken Action on the Border Crisis

It has been a long two weeks since Democrat Laura Kelly tried to distract Kansans from her failure to combat the crisis on the southern border.

Horrifically, Kansas children have continued to die from fentanyl-laced drugs being made in Mexico and brought into the United States, and more tragedies are sure to come if Kelly and her Democrat allies in Washington continue to ignore the crisis. The DEA division that includes Kansas announced it has seized nearly as many pills containing fentanyl and meth this year as it had seized in the two previous years. And further south, Customs and Border Protection has seized enough fentanyl this year alone to kill over two billion people.

“Instead of taking action to keep Kansans safe from the drug, security, and humanitarian crisis playing out on our southern border, Democrat Laura Kelly has consistently chosen to launch partisan attacks, dodge questions entirely, or try to claim credit for actions she had nothing to do with,” said RGA spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “Laura Kelly’s continued refusal to be part of the conversation or take executive action is literally costing Kansans their lives.”

Two weeks ago, a majority of the nation’s governors – including Kansas neighbors Oklahoma, Missouri and Nebraska – came together to ask President Joe Biden for a meeting to discuss the crisis at the southern border, and yesterday that same group released a framework of concrete policies to address it. Laura Kelly has yet to take any similar action to pressure her Party bosses in Washington.
