Laura Kelly Dropped the Ball on Panasonic Deal

While Joe Biden may try to deny it, yesterday the U.S. officially entered a recession. A step Democrat Laura Kelly seemed eager for earlier this month when she said, “Bring it on” about just the possibility.

But it turns out in addition to cheering on the possible loss of jobs and destruction of small businesses from a recession, Kelly is also ready to gamble away the state tax dollars she is so sure would be there to keep Kansas afloat. According to reports this week, Kelly failed to secure guarantees for even a single job and no wage requirements in exchange for the $830 million incentive package for Panasonic.

“It’s an election year and Democrat Laura Kelly knows she’s in trouble, which is why she was desperate enough to gamble with Kansas tax dollars and is refusing to answer for it,” said RGA spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “Kelly callously cheered on a recession while risking tax dollars without securing guaranteed jobs and salaries in exchange. It’s the kind of reckless and unacceptable political games that voters will reject in November.”
