Despite pretending to be a tax-cut governor, Ned Lamont is once again raising taxes, increasing the tax on diesel fuel by over 20% starting in July.
Lamont’s latest tax hike will directly increase the costs of everyday goods like food and clothing at a time when inflation and fuel prices are already at record highs.
“Apparently championing Joe Biden’s policies that have created skyrocketing inflation and gas prices wasn’t enough for Ned Lamont, he wants to inflict more pain on Connecticut families,” said RGA Spokesman Chris Gustafson. “Instead of heeding Bob Stefanowski’s advice and working with Republicans to suspend the diesel tax and give families relief, Lamont is choosing to once again to punish consumers when they can least afford it.”
