As Oregon students headed back to the classroom, parents braced for another year of their child’s exposure to potentially radicalized ethnic studies standards due to Democrat priorities supported by the then-legislators Tina Kotek and Betsy Johnson.

As reported by Fox News, when given the opportunity, Kotek and Johnson voted not once, but twice on the matter in the form of two bills that allowed for a select advisory group to dictate ethnic studies and another that allowed the State Board of Education to implement new ethnic studies standards.

On Kotek’s positions on gender outside of the classroom, the outlet also reported that earlier this year Kotek made it clear that as governor, she would support biological men playing in women’s sports; evidenced by her opposition to the question of she opposed legislation that would ban transgender athletes from participating in girls’ sports.

“With more than two-thirds of voters against the teaching of sexual orientation and gender in schools, mark Kotek and Johnson injecting politics into the classroom as another reason rejected in November,” said RGA Spokeswoman Kaitlin Price. “Oregon students are already facing the harsh reality of failing education standards and setbacks from some of the longest school closures in the nation. These longtime Democrats owe parents concerned about the quality of their child’s’ education and fairness on the field an answer on where they really stand on these issues.”
