In case you missed it, Governor Tony Evers is the busiest man in America.
Evers was asked when he last met with a Wisconsin homicide victim’s family. His response? “But I, you know, I’ve got a busy schedule.”
A quick timeline:
- Evers refused to fire the DA who let the Waukesha Christmas parade killer out on inappropriately low bail just one day before the rampage.
- Evers failed to even mention the top issue plaguing Milwaukee during his State of the State address: record-breaking murder rates.
- Evers said he is simply too busy to meet with heartbroken families whose loved ones were killed by criminals taking advantage of the state’s lax response to violent crime.
…all of this as Milwaukee’s homicide rates are up 188% from this time last year.
“Governor Evers owes every violent crime victim’s family an immediate apology for his inappropriate and tone deaf comment that he’s just too busy to meet with them,” said RGA Spokeswoman Maddie Anderson. “It’s hard to imagine a worse response from a sitting Governor whose approval ratings are tanking, whose state is experiencing record-breaking murder rates, and whose record on policies promoting law and order is less than stellar. Evers’ latest comment is just one more reason why Wisconsin voters are ready to put him out of a job in November.”
