GOP Governor Matt Bevin of Kentucky is continuing his commitment to stand up for Kentucky children in foster care by signing the Foster Children’s Bill of Rights.
The legislation, which was ceremonially signed by the governor this week, was championed by former foster children and enumerates 16 rights held by those under the care of the foster care system. Among these rights are access to food, shelter, adequate clothing, and an education, as well as a secure and stable home.
Governor Bevin and First Lady Glenna Bevin are longtime advocates of adoption and foster care as parents of nine children, four of whom are adopted. By protecting Kentucky’s children, Governor Bevin is leading the way to a brighter future for all Kentuckians.
