Kelly Breaks Nearly Two Decade Record with Eleven Vetoes

Democrat Laura Kelly just broke a nearly two decade record for the most vetoes by a Kansas governor in one legislative session. Last year, Kelly had more vetoes than any governor in 17 years with eight vetoes. Kelly’s ninth, tenth, and eleventh vetoes for this session last night break that record.

“Laura Kelly claims to be ‘middle of the road’ and value bipartisanship, yet her record as the most obstructive Kansas governor in at least two decades clearly says otherwise,” said RGA spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “Kansans deserve a governor who will stand up for Kansas values, not get in the way of the legislature’s critical work.”
