July Consumer Prices Report: Americans Still Feeling the Pain of Biden’s Bad Economy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released new inflation data for the month of July revealing consumer prices remain at painfully high levels at 8.5%.

The burden on consumers across every sector of the economy continued for another month, with:

  • The gasoline index, up 44%;
  • The food index, up 10.9%;
  • The energy index, up 32.9%;
  • Used cars and trucks, up 6.6%; and
  • Utility (piped) gas, up 30.5%.

CPI remained unchanged on a monthly basis (June 2022 to July 2022), compared to last month at 1.3%.

“Prices have risen nearly every month since Joe Biden took office and American families continue to struggle to make ends meet underneath the weight of his failing economy,” said RGA Communications Director Jesse Hunt. “Republican governors will continue to stand up for hardworking Americans and help shield them from overreaching and reckless tax and spend policies.”
