Idaho Republican Governor Butch Otter has delivered on his promise to pass tax relief for Idahoans.
Last week, Otter signed into law a $200 million tax cut, representing “one of the largest” tax reductions “in Idaho’s history.” The new law will make Idaho more competitive for business, while slashing income taxes and creating a child tax credit for working families.
Governor Otter’s commitment to returning money back to the taxpayers shows why he remains popular in his state, and stands in stark contrast to the current Democrats vying to replace him.
The Associated Press reports:
“Gov. C.L. ‘Butch’ Otter has signed a sweeping $200 million tax cut into law.
Otter approved the measure on Monday. The new law includes an emergency clause, making it retroactive to Jan. 1.
The plan reduces personal income and corporate tax rates and creates an Idaho child tax credit.”
