Hypocrite Michelle Lujan Grisham Pushes Heavy Fines On Businesses That Didn’t Sell Her Jewelry

Instead of working to ensure New Mexico’s economy can safely bounce back, noted jewelry enthusiast Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is using her power to hypocritically punish small businesses for the same activities she engaged in herself during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As Lujan Grisham and her bevy of government lawyers are pushing the New Mexico Supreme Court to levy $5,000 fines against businesses, she has continued to come under fire for charges that she violated her own lockdown order by purchasing jewelry from a local store while her stay-at-home order was in effect and curbside pickup was prohibited.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, “about a dozen business owners and companies accused Lujan Grisham of improperly threatening businesses,” and allege that the governor is violating state law by imposing fines of over $100.

As New Mexico faces sliding rankings in the latest national “Best States for Business” survey and businesses across the state are working to rebound and make ends meet, Lujan Grisham is doubling down on making her state even less friendly for job creators.
