Hobbs organized racist yearbook tradition

October surprise! Daily Mail got ahold of Katie Hobbs’ racist high school yearbook tradition that she helped organize, called “slave day,” and it should disqualify her from seeking office.

One example from the 1985 yearbook, which would have been the end of Hobbs’ freshman year, describes ‘slaves’ in her grade ‘wearing unbecoming hairdoes and unbecoming outfits, sporting embarrassing signs and performing embarrassing acts of servitude for senior masters for a day.’

…her 1987 Student Council page credits her and the other student leaders for having ‘coordinated the many class events during Spirit Week’ – when Slave Day appears to have been celebrated.

She would have likely known the tradition was celebrated and regularly featured in the Seton Catholic Prep yearbook when she joined its staff in 1987…

…One portion from Hobbs’ senior class yearbook refers to her grade ‘paying for cruelties rendered’ during freshman initiation week on a day called ‘Senior Slave Day.’

The yearbook photos speak a thousand words:

“Auctioning off students, some wearing paint that resembles blackface, in a tradition called ‘slave day’ raises serious questions about Katie Hobbs’ judgement and character,” said RGA spokesman Will Reinert. “Hobbs was already a twice convicted racist, but this bombshell report leads us all to believe that Hobbs’ problems did not begin with Talonya Adams.”
