Grocery Tax Would Already Be Axed 🪓 If Not for Kelly

The Kansas grocery tax would be at 2.9% today and 0% in January 2023 if Democrat Laura Kelly had not vetoed the reduction sent to her desk three years ago, according to data from the Kansas Legislative Research Division.

For three years Kansans have continued losing more of their hard-earned paychecks because of Kelly. They are faced with the second highest food tax in the country while prices on those groceries are expected to continue to climb the rest of the year thanks to Democrat-created inflation.

“Democrat Laura Kelly had a chance to do right by the hard-working people of Kansas three years ago, but instead waited until she was up for re-election to suddenly pretend to care about their struggles,” said RGA spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “Kelly is personally responsible for every dollar Kansans have lost and continue to lose on the grocery tax since her reckless and partisan veto of the reduction three years ago.”
