Under Governor Mike Parson, Missouri Adds Over 50,000 Jobs And Slashes Unemployment

Governor Mike Parson’s swift and ongoing action to support Missouri’s workers and job creators throughout the COVID-19 crisis is paying off, and the proof is in the numbers.

The Show Me State’s newly released July Jobs Report shows that tens of thousands of Missourians are getting back to work and ensuring small businesses can weather this storm. Under Governor Parson’s Show Me Strong Recovery Plan, which balances public health with economic wellbeing, Missouri added 52,200 jobs in the last month alone. The unemployment rate also fell to 6.9% – well below the national average.

Governor Parson is just getting started helping working families back on their feet. As the state continues to move through the stages of the governor’s safe reopening and recovery plan, Missourians can expect to see even bigger gains in the months ahead.

“Governor Parson knows the way to build a better future for the Show Me State lies within Missouri’s working families and small business job creators,” said RGA Communications Director Amelia Chassé Alcivar. “Governor Parson has made expanding opportunity for Missouri workers his top priority from day one, and his data-driven plan ensures that the state will rebound from today’s challenges stronger than ever. Mike Parson works for Missouri.”
