Janet Mills won’t commit to signing a pledge promising not to raise taxes in a second term, and she is flat out “wary” of making such a commitment, according to Bangor Daily News.

“It doesn’t take a focus group and multiple polls to tell you that raising taxes is an election loser, but Janet Mills knows that without another federal bailout she would have to do just that,” said RGA spokesman Will Reinert. “Governor Mills’ campaign manager seems to be in charge of making state policy during the election year, but you can bet if Mills is reelected taxes will spike.”
