With just two weeks to go until Election Day, a new poll shows Connecticut’s gubernatorial race in a dead heat, giving Republicans a major pick-up opportunity in a historically blue state.
The latest survey by Sacred Heart University/Hearst Connecticut Media Group shows Republican Bob Stefanowski in a statistical tie with Democrat Ned Lamont as Stefanowski has quickly closed the gap from the group’s previous poll in September. Lesley DeNardis of Sacred Heart University indicated that the poll shows voters are looking for a new direction after eight years of failed leadership under Dan Malloy, as the numbers show “discontent with current leadership” and the state’s “struggling economy.”
While Bob Stefanowski campaigns to cut taxes and reform government, his candidacy continues to build clear momentum as Ned Lamont only offers more of the same tax-and-spend policies. Connecticut voters are ready to turn the page on November 6.
