GOP Governors Fight For Higher Teacher Pay

Committed to improving his state’s education system, GOP Governor Eric Holcomb is fighting to get Indiana teachers a much-deserved pay raise.

The Herald Bulletin reports that Governor Holcomb is calling for a four percent increase in compensation for teachers over the next two years, prioritizing some of the state’s budget surplus to fund higher salaries for educators.

GOP Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia is also working to boost his state’s education system, putting forward a budget proposal that includes considerable pay incentives to help the state recruit and retain the most talented teachers while continuing to grow the state’s economy.

Governor Holcomb and Governor Kemp are proving that GOP chief executives are focused on education as they stand on the front lines to fight for hardworking teachers and the critical role they play in ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.
