GOP Governor Kim Reynolds Delivers: Iowa Ranked Best State In America By US News

Thanks to GOP Governor Kim Reynolds’ results-driven leadership, Iowa is positioned well for success now and in the future. This morning, U.S. News & World Report announced that Iowa finished first overall in their annual Best States rankings. The Hawkeye state, known for its agriculture and first in the nation presidential caucus, earned high marks for its infrastructure, access to broadband, health care, opportunity, education, and quality of life.

As these rankings show, Governor Reynolds is taking action, getting results, and moving Iowa forward.

U.S. News & World Report explains,

Iowa may be better known for its corn, caucuses and creative writing programs, but the Hawkeye state also leads the nation in efforts to bring ultra-fast internet access to every city block and every rural acre.

Iowa’s No. 1 rankings in the infrastructure category and the broadband access metric within that came as a “pleasant surprise” to David Daack, a broadband consultant for Connected Nation, which does business in the state as Connect Iowa.

Combine those No. 1s with Iowa’s Top 10 rankings in health care (No. 3), opportunity (No. 4), education (No. 5) and quality of life (No. 9), and the state becomes “first in the nation” not only in terms of its presidential caucuses, but also when describing Iowa’s overall placement in the U.S. News & World Report’s Best States rankings.

Governor Kim Reynolds called the ranking a tribute to the people of Iowa.

“Our Best States ranking from U.S. News is a humbling tribute to our people who have proven time and again that in Iowa, if you’re willing to work hard, you can accomplish anything. My top priority as governor is to build on our current success by bringing new resources and opportunities to every corner of our state,” said Governor Kim Reynolds of Iowa. “Every Iowan contributes to the success of their community and our state, and we celebrate this honor knowing that our work to build a better Iowa will never be finished.”
