GOP Governor Bruce Rauner continued his efforts to reform Illinois’ broken business climate this week by slashing the onerous fees needed to start small businesses. WAND reports that under Governor Rauner, “It is now more affordable to start and own a small business in Illinois.”
Among other fee reductions, the filing fee to start a new business in the state, as well as annual reporting fees, have been cut by 70%.
“This is a clear win for business in Illinois,” Governor Rauner said.
As Governor Rauner places economic growth and reform at the top of his legislative agenda, Democratic candidates for Governor, like billionaire Hyatt heir J.B. Pritzker, are promising to raise taxes if elected.
