
Thanks to GOP Governor Kay Ivey’s pro-jobs leadership, the people of Alabama can celebrate another year ranked as a top state for business. According to Area Development, Alabama’s pro-growth policies are working to further expanded opportunity and economic expansion as Governor Ivey’s administration is taking concrete steps to strengthen the state’s business climate even further.
The AL.com reports:
“A national economic development publication is again ranking Alabama as one of the best places in America for business.
Area Development issued kudos to Alabama for improved economic development policies, workforce development and its initiative to spotlight areas primed for development.
The magazine ranked Alabama sixth in its 2017 ‘Top States for Doing Business’ analysis…
Alabama Department of Commerce Secretary Greg Canfield said the rankings show that “offers the advantages that companies are searching for when they are making decisions about opening new facilities or expanding existing operations.”
Alabama has placed in the overall Top 10 of Area Development’s rankings every year for at least eight years. Earlier this year, the state won the coveted Silver Shovel award from Area Development for a slate of economic development projects in 2016.
Overall, Alabama drew high marks for its Site Advantage program, which identifies areas ready for large development; for AIDT, the state’s workforce development agency, and for the Alabama Department of Environmental Management’s work with permitting.”
