After months of scandalous reports of neglect and worse by workers at Rhode Island’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families that Democrat Governor Gina Raimondo has refused to acknowledge or address with any major action, she continues to take harsh criticism even from members of her own party. Patricia Serpa, the Democrat Chair of the Rhode Island House of Representatives’ Oversight Committee took aim at Raimondo, tweeting an article titled “Raimondo Ignores Deaths of Children In DCYF Care.”
With bipartisan criticism growing as Raimondo continues to ignore the DCYF scandal, even after the agency’s director admitted last month they are “still drowning” with insufficient staff while systemic problems persist, her lack of concern for Rhode Island youths under DCYF supervision further shows how unfit she is to lead the state for another term.
