Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal: In the States, Good Ideas and Government Works

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association today launched the next video of the American Comeback project, a national advertising effort designed to tell the success stories and accomplishments of Republican governors.

The newest video of the American Comeback project features Nathan Deal, Governor of Georgia and a spirited advocate for economic growth and job creation in his state. Governor Deal has devoted his first term in office to shaping a government that works, transcending federal government obtrusion and applying conservative principles to strengthen Georgia’s competitiveness.

“When I became governor in January of 2011, I made the creation of jobs in the state of Georgia my number one priority,” said Governor Deal. “I believe if a person has a good job, they can support themselves, they can support their family, and their need to ask government to do things for them is greatly diminished.”

“Since I became governor, we have added in excess of 175,000 new private sector jobs in the state of Georgia. That’s something I think we should all be proud of,” added Governor Deal.

“Unfortunately, the right ideas don’t always come from Washington, and in fact, many times, Washington becomes an obstacle for the kind of good ideas governors have and want to implement in their states,” said Governor Deal. “We’re showing, in the state of Georgia, that you can do with the resources that you have, while at the same time increasing the level of productivity of the citizens of our state. “

“The answers are not coming from Washington,” Governor Deal concludes. “Republican governors are driving the American comeback, and I think that’s the way it was intended to be.”

The American Comeback project will grow to include more videos focused on individual Republican governors, their personal journeys and the progress they’ve made toward bringing prosperity to their states.
