OR Gas Prices Jump Overnight, Again

The average price of gas rose overnight AGAIN in Oregon, reaching its highest recorded average price, well above the national average, in the company of fellow Democrat-led states like California, Nevada, Hawaii, and Washington.

Yet, these outrageous gas prices are nothing new to Oregonians who have paid the price for Democrats’ policies for more than a decade. In 2009, the then-Democrat legislators Tina Kotek and Betsy Johnson voted for a bill that increased the gas tax by 25 percent. Beginning January 1, 2011, the bill, requested by the then-Democrat Governor Kulongoski, hiked Oregon’s gas tax adding 6 cents to the gallon, tapping on an additional $30 expenseto the average consumer.

“Gas prices have doubled since Joe Biden took office, but these prices come as no surprise to the average Oregonian who can’t remember a time when their state didn’t face pain at the pump because of high gas prices and a gas tax under Democrat leadership,” said RGA Spokeswoman Kaitlin Price. “Kotek and Johnson have already run Oregonians down to their last penny in pursuit of their radical agenda; residents of the state can’t afford to live under Democrat control any longer.”
