Do Florida Dem Gov Candidates Support Nancy Pelosi’s Plan To Raise Taxes On Floridians?

Yesterday morning, in an interview with Politico, top Democrat Governors Association fundraiser Nancy Pelosi, once again made clear that tax hikes will be a key message from Democrats in elections up and down the ballot this year.

These comments come only a few days after Nancy Pelosi brought her campaign to make working families pay more to Florida.

In an interview last week with the Tampa Bay Times editorial board, Pelosi stood by her infamous and out-of-touch comments that tax cuts, pay raises, and increased bonuses for workers are “crumbs.”

Floridians are seeing the benefits of lower taxes firsthand. This month, Florida Gulf Power customers will receive $103 million back in lower energy prices because of federal tax cuts, while Florida’s businesses, both large and small alike, have announced plans to raise wages and bonuses for their workers. On the state level, lower taxes and pro-growth policies under Gov. Rick Scott have fostered a booming economy in Florida, creating nearly 1.5 million new jobs.

With Nancy Pelosi promising to undo all this progress in Florida, Gwen Graham, Philip Levine, Andrew Gillum and Chris King owe voters a clear answer. Do they stand with Nancy Pelosi or do they stand with working families?
