FLIP-FLOP: Minnesota Dem Gov Candidate Tim Walz Caught Doing 180 On Obamacare

It’s not difficult to take a consistent position on the critical issue of healthcare – that is, unless you are an opportunistic politician like Tim Walz.

Minnesota Representative and DFL candidate for Governor Tim Walz has been all over the place on Obamacare, and new footage shows him flip-flopping yet again. It’s a classic example of political elites thinking that everyday voters aren’t paying attention to where they stand.

Walz was among the 219 Congressmen to vote for Obamacare and has spent years supporting the far-left policies of Washington Democrats. But in May, Walz appeared to disavow his support for Obamacare.

Walz was caught at a campaign event bemoaning Obamacare, arguing that it was “failing” his constituents. Watch here.

TIM WALZ IN MAY: “…that’s why the message, and we were talking about the DNC, the DNC wanted the message to be that the ACA is doing fine and don’t talk about the warts and I said I can’t do that because it’s failing my constituents in a lot of ways.”

But this month, during his gubernatorial campaign launch, Walz said he was “proud” to have voted for Obamacare “several times.” Watch here.

TIM WALZ IN OCTOBER: “I’m proud I voted for the ACA and I’m proud I’ve supported it several times, that I’ve said through the whole time and the whole process that health care and health care reform is a journey, not a destination. And we’ve spent most of our time focusing insurance reform than we can make sure we start getting people in and focus on wellness, and all of those big fights are going to be done at the state level.”

It’s a clear flip-flop by Walz. First he voted for Obamacare. Then he claimed it was hurting his constituents. Now that he’s running for Governor and needs far-left support to win a primary, he’s proud again that he voted for it.

It’s the kind of opportunistic doublespeak that Minnesota voters are tired of.
