DGA Picks Seattle Liberal Jay Inslee To Help Connect Dems With Red State Voters

WASHINGTON D.C. – The Democratic Governors Association formally installed Washington State Governor Jay Inslee as their new Chairman today, bringing an end to Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy’s disastrous two years as the organization’s leader as the number of Democrat governors fell to record lows.

The Republican Governors Association released the following statement regarding Inslee’s takeover of the DGA Chairmanship:

“As the DGA’s new Chairman, Jay Inslee talks a big game on 2018 governor’s races, but the DGA’s weak fundraising and poor candidate recruitment doesn’t match up with his naive rhetoric,” said RGA Communications Director Jon Thompson. “As Democrat governors and Democrat gubernatorial candidates continue to push unpopular anti-jobs, anti-growth policies while struggling to find a coherent message to run on, the number of Democrat chief executives in the states will continue to stay at record lows. If the DGA thinks a Seattle Liberal like Jay Inslee will help them connect with rural and red state voters, they are in deep trouble.”
