Democrat Governor Phil Murphy’s tax-and-spend policies continue to take New Jersey backward as the state descends into fiscal chaos on his watch.
Bloomberg News reports New Jersey “budget negotiations are fraught with even deeper fiscal and political peril” as income tax receipts are down six percent since last year while the state faces major funding challenges with its pension system and New Jersey Transit. This comes as Murphy continues to push for more job-killing tax hikes, a strategy that has proven disastrous for other Democrat governors in states like Connecticut.
As his state’s budget problems grow, Phil Murphy’s liberal tax-and-spend agenda is putting New Jersey on track for major fiscal issues that threaten the state’s future economic prosperity.
