Democrat Andrew Gillum Struggles To Explain Why Florida Should Adopt High-Tax California Policies

Florida Democrat gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum continues to show that his policies would be an economic disaster.

At a recent press conference to defend his billion-dollar tax hike on Florida’s job creators, Gillum praised California’s tax rates, despite the fact that hundreds of thousands are fleeing California’s unaffordable taxes to states like Florida.

Now, unable to explain how he would foster job creation, Gillum is parroting a discredited talking point to downplay the significance of the 1.6 million new jobs created under Rick Scott’s pro-growth, tax cutting policies. In an interview with CBS, Gillum claimed Florida’s unemployment rate was only low because people are working multiple jobs, even though Politifact gave that statement a “Pants on Fire” rating when Gillum’s Socialist ally Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made the exact same claim.

Gillum’s arguments for turning Florida into California are so unpersuasive that he has to parrot thoroughly debunked Socialist talking points. Floridians can’t afford a governor who is determined to reverse their state’s economic progress.
