During Friday’s debate, Tina Kotek and Betsy Johnson spent a lot of time hating on the failed leadership of the state that they’ve been a part of for over a decade.
A few highlights:
- Kotek: “I wouId be surprised if anyone in this room… don’t know someone dealing with a mental health issue or an addiction issue particularly after two years of being in a global pandemic.“
- Kotek: “We are living in a state where we are at the bottom of the list of providing services to folks who need them.“
- Johnson: “We have become so lackadaisical about drugs in this state that we are excellerating what I think is a mental health crisis.“
A few reminders:
- Kotek supports Governor Brown’s devastating lockdowns that destroyed livelihoods, kept children out of the classroom, and exacerbated the mental health crisis.
- Kotek and Johnson have been in leadership at the highest levels of state government for years. They are just as much to blame as Governor Brown for the state’s failure to deliver essential outcomes on policies.
- Kotek and Johnson both voted for a bill that amended and provided for the implementation of Measure 110 that decriminalized drugs and exacerbated the drug abuse and overdose crisis in the state.
“Oregonians know Tina and Betsy are a part of the same failed Democrat leadership that have only made the state’s biggest problems worse,” said RGA Spokeswoman Kaitlin Price. “Oregon went down the wrong path under their watch and voters won’t make the same mistake again.”
