DEBATE: Another Victory for Christine Drazan in Oregon

Tonight, in their second debate of the week, the gubernatorial candidates met in Medford where Christine Drazan offered a clear vision for how she would address the decades of failure in the state created under the control of her opponents Tina Kotek and Betsy Johnson. As we near closer to Election Day, and as the momentum and enthusiasm for Drazan builds across the state, it’s obvious the pressure is getting to Kotek and Johnson…

WATCH: Drazan slams Kotek’s track record of bullying in the Oregon legislature

Drazan: “Yeah, you really can’t trust a word that Tina Kotek says on that issue. Throughout her tenure as speaker of the house, as she went out of her way to crush anyone that didn’t agree with her, with her approach to legislating and certainly would take the Portland approach and impose it across the entire state. And as the only really true voice of balance in this race, I will be a person that will reach across the aisle because we will likely have Democrat majorities in the legislature, the opportunity to force negotiations only exists with a Republican as governor.”

WATCH: Drazan is the only candidate committed to keeping politics out of the classroom

Drazan: “And, to be clear, I will get politics out of the classroom. The governor is the superintendent of public instruction. I am committed to getting parents back in and politics out of our classrooms.”

WATCH: Drazan clarify’s Kotek’s record of hurting Oregon’s businesses

Drazan: “It is laughable to imagine that speaker Kotek would do anything that was pro-business at all. In her time as speaker of the house she has raised taxes, she’s raised regulations, she has done everything to attack business and frankly to make it harder and harder and harder to do business in the state of Oregon. Oregon is one of the least business friendly states in the nation due, in large part, to the leadership of Tina Kotek.”
