What Dan Malloy Didn’t Say To Connecticut Residents In His Final State of The State Address

Yesterday, in his final state of the state speech, Failed Governor Dan Malloy spent his time rallying for progressive causes while ignoring Connecticut’s glaring economic challenges that materialized as a result of his anti-business policies. The Hartford Courant reported that “Malloy’s remarks made no mention of the most difficult problems facing Connecticut, including the state’s uncertain economic future and looming deficits in coming years.”

To make matters worse, Malloy offered no explanation for his decision to propose even more new tax and fee hikes in his latest budget proposal, which included a new real estate conveyance tax, statewide tolling, a gas tax hike, and the repeal of business tax credits. Even after his years of tax hikes have driven Connecticut into fiscal chaos, Malloy inexplicably continues to double down on the same policies that have taken the state into decline.

As Malloy Enablers like Ned Lamont, Luke Bronin, Oz Griebel, Susan Bysiewicz, and Dita Bhargava continue to stand by Malloy’s failed agenda, their continued support for his anti-business, anti-jobs policies will continue to burden their campaigns, diminishing Democrats’ chances of holding on to Connecticut’s gubernatorial office this November.
