It may feel like déjà vu as Charlie Crist reminds Floridians yet again he has really bad taste in presidents. Joe Biden is set to visit South Florida to rally with Crist today, even as polls show Biden’s approval rating as low as 39%.
Crist’s embrace of unpopular presidents is nothing new. Crist’s embrace of then-President Obama during his first midterm election cost Crist the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate and ultimately the race. Now Crist seems destined to repeat history as a Democrat when he welcomes a very unpopular President Biden in his first midterm. All while the RCP polling average reports Crist trailing Governor Ron DeSantis by double digits.
“Charlie Crist is once again showing Floridians just how clueless and out-of-touch he really is,” said RGA spokeswoman Joanna Rodriguez. “Joe Biden’s and Crist’s failed policies in Washington landed the country in the financial mess we are in with record-high inflation and a dependence on foreign oil that threatens our economy and national security. The only way Florida will continue to thrive and lead the nation is by re-electing Governor Ron DeSantis and rejecting Charlie Crist, again.”
