Cook Political Report Moves Massachusetts Gov Race From “Likely Republican” To “Solid Republican”

Governor Charlie Baker’s pro-jobs leadership continues to earn high marks from the people of Massachusetts, making him one of America’s most popular governors as he remains in strong position for re-election this November.

Cook Political Report updated its rating for Massachusetts governor’s race this morning, moving it from “Likely Republican” To “Solid Republican,” citing Governor Baker’s sky-high ratings in one of America’s bluest states and the Democrats’ inability to find a top-tier challenger. This new rating follows Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball, who also recently moved Massachusetts governor’s race from “Likely Republican” to “Solid Republican.”

As Governor Baker remains committed to finding bipartisan, pro-growth solutions to move Massachusetts forward, the people of his state continue to approve of his job performance, putting him in strong position for victory this November.

Cook Political Report writes:

“Finally, there are 12 seats in the Solid Republican column. Govs. Charlie Baker in Massachusetts and Phil Scott have moved to this column from Likely Republican. Both are among the most popular Governors in the nation, despite the fact that they hail from two of the most Democratic states. Democrats tried to find first-tier candidates, but fell short and the candidates who are running are struggling to raise money.”
