The Chattanooga Times Free Press has endorsed Republican Businessman Bill Lee as the “best choice” for Tennessee Governor. Impressed by the “fresh perspective” Lee brings as a non-politician and outsider, the Times Free Press recommends that Tennesseans give Lee the opportunity to lead, especially to help rural Tennessee thrive.
“The state has made great strides under Republican Gov. Bill Haslam and has low unemployment, the top wage growth in the South, one of the highest rated pension systems in the country and a record rainy-day fund,” writes the Times Free Press. Bill Lee would “accentuate those attributes with specific strategies for rural Tennessee.”
The Times Free Press concludes that Bill Lee is “best positioned to continue” the progress made under Governor Bill Haslam. “We endorse his election.”
