In her second ad of the cycle, Gretchen Whitmer reminded voters that the cost of goods in Michigan are skyrocketing, up over 9.1% in the last year.
Whitmer even kindly pointed out that a box of cereal now costs over $4! Cereal like that from former-Michigan brand Kellogg’s which recently announced it was moving its headquarters out of Michigan, a decision, which was made just after Whitmer’s Legislative Director left to lobby for the company.
The fact is Michigan families are struggling to afford groceries thanks to the failed policies of Whitmer’s BFF, Joe Biden, that have caused record inflation. Yet Whitmer refuses to deliver real relief.
“Gretchen Whitmer is once again airing ads out of her fantasy world, refusing to accept blame for the record inflation and gas prices that she campaigned for with Joe Biden,” said RGA Spokesman Chris Gustafson. “While it’s admirable that Whitmer acknowledged the skyrocketing costs of living, the fact is Whitmer supported the policies that led to Michigan families struggling to get by and has refused to work with Republicans to help them weather the storm.”
