Michelle Lujan Grisham just accepted the blame for any future inflation and tax increases by supporting Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan.
But don’t just take my word on the negative impacts of student loan forgiveness on blue collar New Mexicans. Top President Clinton/Obama economist Larry Summers sounded the alarm saying, “Student loan debt relief is spending that raises demand and increases inflation.”
And with 28% of New Mexicans holding a bachelor’s degree or higher, the remaining 72% of working-class New Mexicans getting stuck with future tax bills and the brunt of the cost of inflation.
“Not only do respected economists warn of the negative consequences student loan forgiveness could have on economy, but expectations of inflation drive inflation, and 59% of Americans think student loan forgiveness will make their daily lives more expensive,” said RGA spokesman Will Reinert. “It will be the working class and New Mexicans who chose not to go to college who pay the bulk of student loan forgiveness, and Governor Lujan Grisham should be ashamed that she supports putting this massive burden on the backs of those who can least afford it.”
