Betsy Johnson’s Flip Flop On The Gas Tax

In case you missed it… in an interview with KATU, Betsy Johnson said she wouldn’t raise taxes nor impose fees that would exacerbate the already high cost of gas in the state.

Unfortunately for her, and all Oregonians, she already did.

As I’ve reminded you about before, the then-Democrat Senator Betsy Johnson, and her ally in the House, Tina Kotek, voted for a bill that raised driver’s license and vehicle registration fees and increased the gas tax, not once, but twice!

“Betsy needs to freshen up on her long history of votes before she continues on with her failed attempts to rebrand after 15 years of voting with Tina Kotek against the interest of working families,” said RGA Spokeswoman Kaitlin Price. “Oregon’s near-highest in the nation gas prices are just one part of the affordability crisis that Betsy could have addressed long before now.”
