Under Republican Governor Rick Scott’s pro-growth policies, Florida’s economy remains a job-creating machine.
According to new employment figures, Florida added another 20,500 jobs in August, adding up to an astonishing 1.6 million jobs during Governor Scott’s tenure.
While Republican Ron DeSantis has committed to continuing Rick Scott’s pro-growth, lower tax economic policies, Democrat gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum is proposing to reverse this economic progress through massive tax increases, including a billion dollar tax hike on Florida’s job creators. At a recent press conference, Gillum even praised California’s high tax rates, despite the fact that hundreds of thousands are fleeing California’s unaffordable taxes to states like Florida.
This “central clash” of the Florida governor’s race could not be starker. Republican Ron DeSantis wants to build off Florida’s economic progress, Democrat Andrew Gillum wants to turn the state into another California.
