Ahead of First Gov Forum, Kelly Has No Plan

Democrat Laura Kelly and Republican Derek Schmidt will have their first gubernatorial forum tonight ahead of their first debate Saturday. It’s unfortunately one of the few times voters will able to directly compare the two candidates since Kelly is turning down multiple invitations to debate Schmidt.

The reason Kelly won’t debate has already been playing itself out. While Derek Schmidt has a vision for a better Kansas and a plan to get the state there, Laura Kelly has no plans, no new ideas, and a record riddled with incompetence and failing to stand up to radicals in the state and in Washington.

“Democrat Laura Kelly’s term has been nothing but obstruction and waiting for Republican leaders to do the work of governing Kansas for her,” said RGA spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “Kansans want a governor who will put them first and work everyday to make Kansas a better place to live, work, and raise a family. Republican Derek Schmidt is the only candidate with a plan to get that done, and that’s why voters will elect him this fall.”
